Frontier Post – Settings
Frontier Post settings contains the basic settings for Frontier Post, you should also review Frontier Post Capability settings, Frontier Post Role based settings & Frontier Post Advanced settings
Below is an explanation of the different options:
Allow edit of posts with comments | If this is checked, the user will be able to edit own posts where other users already have commented. Default is un-checked. |
Allow deletion of posts with comments | If this is checked, the user will be able to delete own posts where other users already have commented. Default is un-checked. |
Max age in days to allow edit of post | The number of days from publish date a user can edit own post. Default 10 days. |
Max age in days to allow delete of post | The number of days from publish date a user can delete own post. Default 3 days. |
Number of post per page | The number of posts shown for each page of the list in the My Post view. Default 25 posts. |
Page containing [frontier-post] shortcode

The page containing the [frontier-post] shortcode. During activation of Frontier Post the activation script will create a page called My Posts with the [frontier-post] shortcode, if there is no pages existing with the shortcode already. This setting must refer to a published page containing the [frontier-post] shortcode. The page does not necessarily have to be in the menu.If you are using several pages with the [[frontier post]] shortcode, this is the fall-back page. |
Page for pending posts

Default status for new posts | The status new posts that are created from the Frontier Post user interface is assigned. Please note that this has to be a valid post status for the user – If default status is Published and user does not have the capability “Can Publish” but has the capability “Can Pending”, the status will be set to “Pending review” Default: Published |
Allow users to change status from Published | If this checked, the user will be able to change status once the post is published, if not checked users can’t change the status of a post, once the post is published. Default: Checked. |
Use featured image | Enables selection of featured image from frontend form. Default: Un-checked. |
Show link to login page | Shows link to wp-login.php after text: Please login. This text is shown if a user that hasn’t logged in access a page with the [frontier-post] shortcode. Default: checked. |
Show add/update/delete messages | If checked, Frontier post will show a message in the top of the page after add / update / delete actions – Ex: Post updated: Frontier Post – SettingsDefault: Checked. |
Show submit buttons on post edit form | Select which buttons are shown on the add/edit form in frontend. |
Allowed Post Types | Allowed post types. |
Exclude categories | A comma separated list of category IDs to exclude from category selection dropdowns and lists. |
Show edit/delete/view icons in list | Show icons instead of text for edit/delete/view in list ![]() ![]() ![]() |
